Day 1: The Living Conditions Here Are Horrible...If You Hate Sunshine & Happiness

Where on earth did my husband drag me to?! Not only do we have this horrible view from our bedroom window...
...but when we leave in the morning to eat our free breakfast, someone comes into our fully furnished apartment and makes our bed for us. Just awful.

Alright, so in a few days we will have to move out of the serviced temporary housing and actually prepare breakfast and clean up after ourselves (lame!). But in the meantime, this has been a terrific break from the endless stress we've endured for the past several months while preparing for our move to Singapore.

However, even after we move into our permanent apartment, we'll still get to enjoy these beautiful views...
If you look at the horizon, you can see the ocean

And we'll still be able to swim in these meticulous pools...

...which appear to be vacant most of the day.

And, we got to spend a couple of hours with this little man...

  1. I'm so excited things are going so well for you! We were supposed to have an apartment like that in Australia, but they forgot to arrange the booking, so the first week we were crammed in a tiny hotel room. It had a beautiful ocean view, but wasn't much fun.

    1. Thanks, Liesl! I'm so relieved that everything worked out with housing and we have a little bit of time to adjust to Singapore before really living on our own. It's been a huge help and it's kinda like our honeymoon :) I'm sorry you guys didn't get to have something like this in Australia :(

  2. I am so glad you have this blog. My quest to avoid commenting on anything Facebook has made it hard to live vicariously through your adventures.

Can not wait to see what you get up to in Singapore.

...and I'm sure Singapore TV execs would love a sitcom about wacky American teens, right!?

    1. Absolutely they would! I have been thinking about our sitcom so much over the past few weeks/months. We're still on the 5-year plan, right? ;)
